The Women's Foundation of Colorado's Girl Leadership Council
The Girls' Leadership Council (GLC) gives 20 rising juniors the unique opportunity to become community leaders and philanthropists each summer. Over six days, The GLC will conduct site visits with nonprofits, meet local legends and leaders, build meaningful relationships, and go through an entire grantmaking process. Participants leave the program empowered and equipped to address and impact their own schools and communities.
Through this program girls develop leadership skills and learn about issues affecting women and girls in Colorado during a challenging, hands-on, on site summer program July 23rd-July 29th on the University of Denver campus. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. on March 1, 2017.
The vision of Girls Incorporated is empowered girls and an equitable society. We believe that girls have the right to be themselves and to resist gender-stereotypes, to express themselves with originality and enthusiasm, to take risks, to strive freely, and to take pride in success, to accept and appreciate their bodies, to have confidence in themselves, to be safe in the world and to be prepared for interesting work and economic independence.
