Girls Inc. of Metro Denver Mission

Our mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold.SM The vision of Girls Incorporated is empowered girls and an equitable society. Since its founding as a national organization in 1945, Girls Incorporated has expressed its values through a Girls' Bill of Rights. The document has changed over time but has always expressed girls' rights to develop skills for their own success and the community's benefit.

Girls Incorporated Vision

For the past two decades the National Council of Girls Incorporated has also expressed its values and convictions in policy statements, which form the foundation for our programs and our advocacy. We act on these convictions by developing and implementing research-based programs that change the world for girls with whom we interact directly. With them, we speak out on issues that can improve the lives of all girls and young women.

As we move into the new millennium, we bring together the Girls' Bill of Rights and our advocacy statements in a new expression of our organizational identity.

The Girls' Bill of Rights

Girls have the right…
• to be themselves and to resist gender-stereotypes;
• to express themselves with originality and enthusiasm;
• to take risks, to strive freely, and to take pride in success;
• to accept and appreciate their bodies;
• to have confidence in themselves and to be safe in the world;
• to prepare for interesting work and economic independence.
