Itzel Cervantes
Middle School Tutor
Why We Love Itzel Cervantes: Itzel tutors girls in 6th through 8th grade in their math and literacy work throughout the week. She started volunteering in October 2016 and is currently working toward her B.A. in Education and Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver. Itzel supports Girls Inc. through her diligence and willingness to take on leadership as needed. She is a self-starter, easy to work with, open to trying new thing. Itzel recently started driving our vans and shuttles to pick girls up from school. "I love helping others," Itzel said. "I would like to show young women to be strong and gain amazing leadership skills!

Who's The STRONGest Person You Know: My mother is the strongest person I know.

What's The SMARTest Thing You Have Ever Heard: I've heard a lot in my human development classes. I do not know where to start.

What's The BOLDest Thing You Have Ever Done: Defend myself from others.

The vision of Girls Incorporated is empowered girls and an equitable society. We believe that girls have the right to be themselves and to resist gender-stereotypes, to express themselves with originality and enthusiasm, to take risks, to strive freely, and to take pride in success, to accept and appreciate their bodies, to have confidence in themselves, to be safe in the world and to be prepared for interesting work and economic independence.
