"I did whatever it took to straighten myself out and succeed and become the girl and now woman I always wanted to be."
Why We Love Thalia Diaz: Thalia has been a volunteer in our Youth Center since November 2008, as a Tutor and Program Assistant. Oh, how we love Thalia: Jessie Sutton who works with her on Wednesdays says "Thalia is absolutely phenomenal. She always gets my class started and gets the girls excited for the day's activities. She loves the girls and loves to share her knowledge as well as her heart. She came up with a wonderful activity called 'Power Bags' that the 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 6th graders all participated in and enjoyed!" Thalia is patient, effective and has a wonderful attitude, and is very deserving of being named Volunteer of the Month!
Who's The STRONGest Person You Know: My mom is the strongest person I know because her mom was poisoned and killed, her dad abandoned her, and she lived in a house where they did not treat her so well. My mom chose to be a good mom to us and has overcome so many obstacles. She has devoted her life, strength, and energy so my siblings and I can enjoy life and pursue our dreams and goals.
What's The SMARTest Thing You Have Ever Heard: "Even if I give away everything that I have and sacrifice myself, but have no love, I gain nothing…Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." -- God
What's The BOLDest Thing You Have Ever Done: After so many years that I failed at many things in my life, I did whatever it took to straighten myself out and succeed and become the girl and now woman I always wanted to be.
