Why We Love Adrian Young: Adrian has been a volunteer at Girls Inc. since January 2009. During this school year, she has been a tutor on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the 4th grade group, and she has proven herself to be a huge asset to our Youth Center! Adrian "always has a positive attitude and is willing to help out wherever needed. Her contributions to class are very well received and respected by the girls. As an instructor she reassures me that she is very capable of managing girls and helping them with their homework. She is a great mentor and is very proactive about getting involved with the girls and helping out." Adrian, thank you for all you do!!
Who's The STRONGest Person You Know: My sister. She is truly a rock and has been through so many trials in her short life so far. She prevails amidst the toughest circumstances, is an amazing mother to two perfect little boys and inspires me everyday. I admire her strength to not only get through things but ability to move forward, head high and heart full. She is absolutely remarkable!
What's The SMARTest Thing You Have Ever Heard: That happiness is a choice not just a feeling. So many people are struggling and striving to "find it" when in reality it's an innate, God-given thing within each of us and we just need to choose to focus on and fill ourselves with joy. Everyone has trying circumstances, difficulties and hardships dealt them in life. However, choosing to be happy is the gift that makes living memorable, opens eyes to new experiences and creates lasting worthwhile relationships.
What's The BOLDest Thing You Have Ever Done: I'd like to think I've done a lot of BOLD things in my life, but diving headfirst and wholly into following my dreams for adventure seems to be other people's stamp on my BOLDest. My husband and I have traveled to 12 different countries and experienced the culture and people that have made memories to last forever. We've been paragliding over the Swiss Alps and trekked the countryside of Italy, all within a very modest budget and no travel agents/tour guides. There's always a way to seize your passion.
