"If we all treated each other with compassion and kindness, imagine how much peace we would have in the world."
Why We Love Sandy Heydt: Sandy has been a Program Assistant and Tutor in the Youth and Teen Centers on-and-off since Fall 2007. Her most recent assignment was assisting with our Teen Center Corporate Camp Program where she was able to pair up with another volunteer, Erin Hornstein, to motivate and encourage our girls to put together a great product and business plan for the Corporate Camp contest. Sandy has also been a very active and helpful member of our Volunteer Steering Committee. She has contributed countless ideas on trainings, recruitment, retainment and recognition of all Girls Inc. volunteers! She also wrote a moving article for our e-newsletter about her trip to India where she encouraged the students at an all-girls school to be strong, smart, and bold! This summer, she will continue to share her great talents as she presents her experiences in India during Around the World Girls in the Youth Center. Sandy, thanks for everything you bring to Girls Inc.!
Who's The STRONGest Person You Know: Every single parent I know. They amaze me. Strongest person I'd like to know? Michelle Obama.
What's The SMARTest Thing You Have Ever Heard: World peace starts with each person. How we react to others sets off a chain of events. If we all treated each other with compassion and kindness, imagine how much peace we would have in the world.
What's The BOLDest Thing You Have Ever Done: Changing careers three times. Not sure how I ever had the nerve to try, but now I tell everyone…you can do it!
