Why We Love Keshuna Collins: Having only started volunteering at Girls Inc. in October, Keshuna has already made a positive impression on our staff and girls! She volunteers as a tutor with the 1st and 2nd graders, and also helps out at the front desk. Our Youth Center staff thinks, "Keshuna has displayed a great connection and mentoring role to Youth Center girls. She is willing to engage the girls in games and hold conversations with girls to get to know them. She deserves the recognition of Volunteer of the Month because of her great motivating spirit to lead the girls in activities and class participation. She was willing one night to wait with two girls in the lobby until their ride arrived, which she did not have to do. I felt that she put in extra effort to make the girls feel comfortable and allow them to refocus their energy on talking and sharing with her, rather than being upset that they were the last girls to leave the center that evening."
