| Why We Love Carla Habuda: Carla is also new to Girls Inc., having started in September 2009. She is a tutor on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a small group of 5th and 6th graders, along with Rebecca Gates and Kortney McPherson. In a short time, Carla has proven herself to be resourceful, respectful, strong and so so helpful! She effectively models these qualities for the girls, and the girls love her! She easily takes charge of her group and meets challenges head on in a variety of different techniques. It is great to have her help in the Youth Center!
Who's The STRONGest Person You Know: My 96 year old aunt who lives in Pennsylvania. She was born in 1913 and has had a long and interesting life. Through all the ups and downs, she still maintains an amazing love for life and enjoys laughing whenever she can.
What's The SMARTest Thing You Have Ever Heard: My friend Mike, who is an aerospace engineer for Raytheon, attempted to explain what a "quark" is to me. Here is a brief description:
A quark is a tiny theoretical particle that makes up protons and neutrons in the atomic nucleus. Along with glucons, quarks also make up more exotic hadrons such as mesons, which are not stable. The quark is called theoretical because while assuming its existence makes for a better physics theory, it has never been observed directly.
What's The BOLDest Thing You Have Ever Done: I went swimming with dolphins as I traveled through the Ring of Kerry in Ireland. They are extremely friendly and gentle animals.
