Garcia will lead the $3.2 million dollar organization that serves nearly 2,000 girls annually with a mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. In July 2022, past President and CEO, Sonya Ulibarri announced her departure after 11 years of leading the organization.

Garcia brings more than ten years of experience in the nonprofit, business and philanthropic community. Garcia comes most recently from Molson Coors where she led Community Affairs. Prior, she was in a leadership position at Mile High United Way. Garcia will make her to return to the nonprofit sector to lead the 40-year-old organization.

Garcia, a Colorado native, was selected through a national executive search led by a committee of dedicated board members and Girls Inc. staff.  The Board of Directors could not be more excited to welcome Kayla Garcia as our next President and CEO. Since 1983, Girls Inc. of Metro Denver has been inspiring girls and young women to be strong, smart and bold, and we believe Kayla’s extensive fundraising, leadership and community engagement experience will be a true asset to Girls Inc. of Metro Denver as we enter our next chapter of service to the community.

As shared by Kayla, “It is of the utmost honor to serve as the next President and CEO of Girls Inc. Metro Denver. As a longtime supporter of Girls Inc. of Metro Denver I am deeply passionate about the success of our girls and will work to remove barriers impacting girls to advance gender equity.”

Garcia will assume the role on October 31, 2022.
