Announcing Girls Inc. of Metro Denver Summer Internship Program! This summer, we have paid internship openings for high school students at the Girls Inc. Center, as well as with the Bold Beans Barista program, and interested students are welcome to apply to one or both opportunities. Open to rising 9th grade students, through incoming college first-year students. Interviews will take place on May 4th and 5th. Internships at the Girls Inc. Center will begin June 1st and end July 30th, with some training sessions in May.

Tuesday, March 10th, 12:30pm-1:30pm – College Womxn’s Group – This event is for college folks and tasty lunch will be provided. This month, we will be talking about using your resources in college to kickstart your transition into your career. This month we will meet in the Auraria Library at 1100 Lawrence Street, Denver, CO 80204, in Group Study Room 130 B on the first floor. Please RSVP to smcgill@gidenver.org

 Tuesday, March 10th, 6pm-7:30pm – Yoga Night – Come relax, meditate, and enjoy a fun way to get fit and relieve stress! Never done yoga? That’s ok, we are all here to learn. Love yoga? Great, you can build on your skills. We will have mats and water for everyone, just bring yourself and your comfortable clothes. Participants will all have a chance to win some great health and wellness prizes to continue your journey of de-stressing and taking great care of yourself. Please RSVP to smcgill@gidenver.org

Thursday, March 12th, 6pm-7pm – Spring Break College Trip Meeting – This meeting is required for all students planning on attending the Spring Break College Trip to New Mexico April 1st-3rd and a parent or guardian. We will have dinner, answer all your questions about the trip, and get everyone all set with their paperwork to get officially signed up for our awesome trip to Adams State, New Mexico Highlands, and University of New Mexico! Thursday, March 19th, 6pm-8:30pm – #Adulting Night – Getting Your Own Place – Thinking about moving out of the dorms into an apartment? Want to know what it’s like to have your own place after high school graduation? This month Adulting Night is all about housing! Learn about rent, deposits, utilities, roommates, tenant’s rights, and key info related to anything from home ownership to renting an apartment. Dinner will be provided. RSVP to smcgill@gidenver.org

Saturday, February 21st, 10:30am-1pm – THRIVE – Run by Girls Inc. participants, this group is all about how to express yourself, manage stress, and have fun with art. Meet new people and enjoy creative projects! Brunch will be provided.

Saturday, March 28th, 1pm-4pm – Leevers Locavore Women’s Entrepreneurship Event – Come sample local products owned by women, attend business seminars, and hear from a panel of women entrepreneurs! If you are already an entrepreneur yourself, there are opportunities to share about your business and join the panel. This event will be held at Leevers Locavore Grocery Store, 2630 West 38th Avenue, Denver, CO 80211. If you are interested in attending yourself, feel free to check it out independently and attend anytime between 1pm and 4pm. If you want to go with a group from Girls Inc. OR participate in the panel as a business owner, contact smcgill@gidenver.org  to RSVP. We will provide transportation from Girls Inc. if we get RSVPs from 5 or more participants by March 20th.

And don’t forget, every Monday from 4pm-6pm and Wednesday 4:30pm-6pm when school is in session, you can join us for drop-in tutoring and scholarship help!

Looking to bring educated, trained experts to your school? Then inquire with Girls Inc. of Metro Denver about program opportunities. Our staff will come and deliver program during school or after school. Girls Inc. of Metro Denver is recommended by Denver Public Schools for our workshop delivery.
